Launching a Contract Warehouse Operation and Tender Cost Model for a Logistics Operator
The Challenge
The operator was launching a contract logistics operation for a key client and needed a quality management system, operating procedures, a contract with annexes, and process optimization within the warehouse management system. At the same time, it was preparing a bid for a new operation that required a credible cost model.
What We Do
Development of a quality metrics system, together with targets and a measurement methodology.
Preparation of operating procedures for key warehouse activities.
Co-drafting the client contract, including its annexes.
Identification of warehouse management system improvements and construction of a cost model for the new operation.
Results
Quality targets defined at 98–99.9 percent for key processes.
17 warehouse management system improvements cataloged, 8 of them high-impact.
A cost model for an 8,000-square-meter operation built as the basis for the tender bid.
Summary
A new contract operation was structured for the logistics operator, building a metrics system, procedures, a contract with annexes, and a list of improvements. A cost model for the operation was also prepared, supporting the client's bid in a subsequent tender.
